Test and tag FAQs
The essentials for planning portable appliance testing at your Perth workplace.
What is test and tag?
Test and tag generally combines a visual inspection with electrical safety testing of portable equipment. A competent person uses suitable test equipment, records the outcome and identifies tested equipment with a tag where required or appropriate.
Does every workplace use the same testing interval?
No. The appropriate frequency depends on the equipment, how it is used and the workplace environment. Jim can discuss your site rather than applying a one-size-fits-all interval.
Can testing be arranged around business hours?
Jim offers flexible scheduling and will discuss how to minimise disruption at your workplace when preparing the quote.
What records will I receive?
Testel uses barcoded asset identification and organised records to help you see what was tested, the outcome and when future testing is due.
What happens if an item does not pass?
Equipment that does not pass is identified and should not continue to be used until the appropriate action is taken. Jim will explain the recorded result.
Where does Testel travel?
Testel provides mobile service across Perth, with particular focus on Cockburn, Fremantle, Success and south of the river.
How do I get a quote?
